Enjoying the mountains and valleys of Austria is something that everyone with the love of walking can do.June is a particularly lovely time to experience the beautiful Tyrolean Alps with the meadows filled with numerous wild flowers and the mountains still capped with snow enables the walkers to experience the magnificient beauty of this part of Austria whilst undertaking our interesting programme of walks.

Seefeld is one of the largest and most popular destinations in the Tyrol.Framed by the Mountain Range of the Karwendel National Park, Seefeld is situated on a sunny high-altitude plateau 1,200 metres above sea-level and is 150km from Munich and Innsbruck is 21km away. 

You will be staying at the Hotel Bergland, a four star family run hotel situated on the edge of the village of Seefeld near the Wildsee Lake in a beautiful sunny location. The hotel offers classic cuisine and wine cellar,with sun terrace, indoor pool, large sauna and fitness room. There are also internet faclities available.

The price is based on dinner, bed & breakfast with flights from Gatwick Airport to Innsbruck but regional flights can be arranged at a small additional cost.

Your Programme

Day 1:  Arrive. Transport to your hotel in Seefeld

Day 2: Seefeld - Scharnitz - Mittenwald (E:10mls/16kms or 6mls/10kms)

From the Hotel we follow the beautiful river valley through the tiny villages of  Bodenalm and Giessenbach. The walk continues along the river valley to the village of Scharnitz. Here we can shorten the walk or continue over the German border to the town of Mittenwald.

Day 3. Giessenbach-Eppzirler Alm (M:7mls/11kms)

From Giessenbach our walk takes us gently up a track alongside a mountain stream to the Eppzirler Alm. There we relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, before returning down the mountain path to Giessenbach. Alternatively we can extend the walk by returning to Seefeld over Schlagsattlel along an alpine route.

Day 4: Free day to explore Innsbruck or Seefeld

Day 5: Rosshutte Circular ( M: 6mls/10kms)

The Rosshutte tramway takes us to the Middle Station (1760m) and then we take a cable car to the Seefelder Joch (2064m) where the views are just breathtaking. We then walk the Alpine Trail to the Seefelder Spitze (2220m). Our walk returns back to the Rosshutte Middle Station where we spend time enjoying the wonderful views of the Tyrolean Alps before descending back to Seefeld.

Day 6:Seefeld—Lottenseehutte - Mosern (M:8mls/13kms)

This circular walk takes us through the village of Seefeld and along a mountain track to the Wildmoos, surrounded by mountains rising to 1558m. We continue along the valley crossing the Seefeld-Wildmoos golf course to reach Mosern lake. Our journey continues down the valley back to Seefeld.

Day 7: Seefeld -Leutasch Klamm - Hammermoosalm- Gaistalalm (M:8mls/13kms)

Our transport takes us from from Seefeld to Leutasch Klamm and we walk through the valley passing the memorial to St Joseph and then follow a forest track to reach Hammermoosalm. We then follow the track down to Gaistalalm before meeting the river and following it all the way back to Leutasch Klamm

Day 8: Depart.Transport to airport, time to leave or extend your stay
