Extend your summer,enjoy the warmth of the winter sunshine in November on the beautiful island of Cyprus. Our walking holiday is based on the Akamas peninsula the walks take us to interesting and varied places which show you the beauty of this part of the island . The weather in November is warm with little rainfall and temperatures around 18-20c which is ideal for walking.
Why not join us in Cyprus for an eight-day walking holidays next to the beautiful warm blue Mediterranean Sea on the north-western coast of Cyprus. The Akamas is a beautiful region of hills, valleys and rocky shores, which are ideal for walking with rich and varied flora and diverse wildlife habitats. The area is well known for the ancient Greek myths such as that of the Goddess of beauty and love, Aphrodite who bathed in a cool pool before her marriage to Adonis at the Baths of Aphrodite.
You will be staying at the Aphrodite Beach Hotel a three star hotel situated on the beautiful beach near the Akamas forest next to the Mediterean sea.
Your Programme
Day 1: Arrive Paphos. Transfer from the airport to your hotel
Day 2: Pissouromouttis Trail and Neo Chorio (E:7mls/11kms)
Transport takes us to Smigies and we then follow the Pissouromouttis trail to the summit with magnificent 360 degree views across Polis Bay to the north east and the Akamas beaches to the west. Our return route takes us through the interesting village of Neo Chorio and back to the hotel.
Day 3: Droushia to Polis Chrysochous (M:10mls/16kms)
From Droushia we descend to the deserted former Turkish villages of Fasli and Androlykou. We gently climb NW with magnificent views of the coast. The track then drops and zigzags back to our hotel.
Day 4: Free Day Time to explore the island in your own time or our transport takes you on a visit to Paphos .
Day 5: Baths of Aphrodite to Moutis Sotiras/Cape Arnauti (M:8mls/ 13kms)
On leaving the hotel we make our way to see the idyllic grotto of the Baths of Aphrodite. This circular route then takes us into the Akamas Forest and onto the summit of Moutis Sotiras,(370m) which is a magnificent viewpoint. We then descend gently to sea level and to the coastal hammerhead of Cape Arnauti.
Day 6: Akamas Forest to Smigies and Peana Fire Lookout (M:10mls/16kms)
We start at the hotel and take an Akamas forest trail to Smiges. On reaching Smigies our path takes us through the forest and we climb to Peana fire station lookout with wonderful views over Lara Bay and beyond. We then return through open countryside, passing the old Agios Minas church.
Day 7: Droushia to Agios Georgios (M:10mls/16kms)
From Droushia we head towards the village of Kato Arodes and then follow a track, which takes us to the southern arms of the fantastic Kouphon Gorge. You leave the gorge and descend towards the coast with magnificent views of the Lara Peninsula and onto the quiet harbour of Agios Georgios.
Day 8: Depart.Transport to airport, time to leave or extend your stay.
